New Maps
Each Monday (where possible) I will add a new community map to the server, this will allow developers to get an idea of how well their map works in a busy environment, and allows players to see what the community has been up to.
Week 1:
The first week see's the addition of final_rage. This is a popular map from Nexuiz which has been ported over.
Week 2:
Week 2 brings another port from Nexuiz. This week it is the map "farewell" which has been showing keen interest in the Xonotic community over the last week.
Xonotic Tips:
In-game console:
- You will find a few useful tasks, such as voting, are accomplished by using the console. To open the console type the "`" key (on UK keyboards it is the key below ESC). You can then type commands into the console as normal. To close it, type "`" again.
Voting:
- You can vote to change several aspects of the game. There are: restart, endmatch, extendmatchtime, kick and cointoss.
- To learn how to use the voting system, type "vote help" into the console. Basically, to use the voting system you will always type "vote [command]". The list of commands are as follows:
abstain, call, help, master, no, status, goto, yes.
- Additionally, at the end of each round you are given the ability to vote for which map you wish to play next. Simply click on the image of one to choose it. If you wish not to vote, then don't choose one of the options.
