Post Suggestion: Respecs on Tribble should be free.
Since Tribble is a “test server” and Cryptic want us to play on it and be your unpaid beta testers than should not the respecs be free to us. I just did a respecs on Tribble and the next respec is 20,000 merit points. Come on, we are paying Cryptic to play on a test server so they should at least give us free respecs. This is a test server and it would encourage people to play on this server if we can test out builds too.

This makes a lot of sense. It is not an unreasonable request. I know other players who will not play on Tribble because they are tire of being Cryptic's guinea pigs but if they had a reason like free respecs to test their setups they may try Tribble. Cryptic knows that the more players on Tribble the better their test results will be. That is why they have these test weekends. This is a win, win situation.

Before someone starts with the just delete the old the character, re-copying it and respect again.

This only works if the Halodeck character still have respecs available. Also, if we have equipment that is bound which is earn on Tribble we will lose it.

Equipment loss is an issue. People will use different weapons and equipments which cost badges and points, which also cost time to get. I can't spend 8 hours a day PvP plus there are not that many people on Tribble all the time to do PvP and daily's at 5 badges a day take too long. As you know we try to specs our skill points for both our hardware and BO's abilities to maximize performs. Having to delete and start all over is a lot of work and a big waste of time.

The ability to test our builds on Tribble before actually spending points or money since it cost 400 Cryptic points to retrain and since the lowest points you can buy is 500 which equal to $6.25. This can add up really fast. Would you not want to first test your build before you commit your time and money?

This is common sense and good customer service. I am amaze that Cryptic isn't already doing this. They need to hire someone you understands customer services. Any good salesperson would say this is a no brainier.

EDIT:
I am sorry if I sound a little defensive here. Someone was flame me on the STO forum for suggesting this. So I just post this with all my argument on why this would be a good idea. Amazing everyone else thinks this is a good but him and he wants to fight over this.
