POLL: What's your preferred way to catch new episodes, audio
Got a sec to vote? Sorry for using a poll outside the forum, but I wanted to get non-forum user votes too. http://poll.fm/2164uWe've got some ideas for a couple new shows, but they'd be audio only. I'm really curious if that kind of show will take off any more? -Chris

And of course Chrome crashes when I try to vote.
Anyway, I almost always watch new episodes using the website video player. Back before you started with video podcasting, I used to just download the podcasts automatically via my music player at the time, sync them to my iPod and listen to them on the run.

I get the large video feed for LOTSO, LAS, and now J@N; and I get the HD feed for Beer is Tasty. Downloaded in gPodder then I have a script to convert them using FFmpeg so an Xbox can display them.

I would grab the video versions if I had unlimited traffic, but I don't, so it's mp3 for me. Gives me something to listen to on my walk to work too

My drive to work is so long (90 to 120 minutes one way or 3 to 4 hours each day), ogg audio is what I use routinely.
I don't watch the website video because my desktop is in my basement (dungeon) office.
I have recently watched some of the videos with my Nokia N900 via the youtube channel.

I grab the OGV and watch it on my laptop. I always have to hunt for it since the link isn't usually there with the other cool icons, but I can find the text-only link elsewhere.

Re: POLL: What's your preferred way to catch new episodes, audio
I download the HD (or "iPod sometimes") version and watch it on my Evo. That way I can watch it at work, while playing, or while taking notes (mostly during the great Math sessions). As for "Audio only", I'm personal all for it. Most podcast I listen to are audio only and don't really need video. I tend to download them to my phone or listen while putzing around the house. That said, Stoked (and Beer) should always be video!

I always use the iphone app, but usually the video will freeze up and audio will continue. This is regardless if it's on 3G or Wifi.

Re: POLL: What's your preferred way to catch new episodes, audio
New, and catching up religiously on all the LAS shows, and I definitely prefer streaming video. I tried downloading video but, the thing about catching up on episodes is that with the downloaded episodes, it's a lot harder to see the context in which the episode was made (like was this 2, 3 weeks ago) and not as easy to navigate to other episodes with related content.
I'd really like to see the episode/topic tagging done more rigorously, and, though I hate to say it, see JB using the season|episode sorting function within Youtube.
